I appreciate the answer. However, have you taken your Trax through a car wash without problems with the antennae? The reason I am concerned is that the service department at the dealer says you should. Please advise.
If that's the case then I guess you might as well take it off if you're not going into a touchless car wash, but I find that touchless car washes are quite common now, easy to find.
I've used the touch less car washes and have had no problems whatsoever with the antenna. Good thi too since I'm too short to reach it if it needed to come off...lol
Touch-less car washes are pretty easy to find these days and the water pressure shouldn't be strong enough to damage anything. Your Trax antenna can handle it.
Bumping this really old thread. Recently bought a canoe for my solo fishing trips. Found out that lifting it high enough for the cross bar of the canoe to clear the antenna is SUPER hard. Someone suggested removing it while loading/unloading my boat.
Is removing the antenna really as easy as beeguz states above? Is it harmful in anyway to take it on and off?
The best example out there are tow trucks, those guys run a lot of antennas which go through a lot of abuse. Cop car are another great example. Most car antennas hold a similar tolerance.
