TRAX in shop for almost 4 weeks now (anyone else?)
Our 2016 Trax has been in the shop for almost 4 weeks now. They have not been able to fix any of them - last I heard 10 others at this one dealership, I am sure more at other dealerships!
The RPMs rev up and down while driving at a constant speed.
The speedometer goes from high to low or off while at a constant speed
the gas gauge is all over (up and down) while driving
Anyone else have this issue? The dealership just said we can pick it up next week, "it is safe to drive", but we haven't fixed the problem. I am thinking this is not right, the TRAX might be operational, but is still not working %100. Haven't had it a year yet.
It is with the Honda HR-V which is much less sophisticated the most reliable and well rated Mini-SUV on the market. They probably have a batch with some bad electronic component. You would think they would do like every other industry and exchange these faulty products put you back on the road as a happy customer and use the defective vehicles as mules to sort things out.
I would think that not having a working speedometer or gas gauge would be a safety issue. Are they going to pay your speeding tickets and resultant insurance rates? Will they make your payments for a car you can not use? Do you have a Lemon Law in your state that would cover an unrepairable vehicle?
I remember just how excited GM got back in 94 when the dealer sent me on my way with nonfunctioning turn signals that they had to wait for a part for, because GM was liable if it caused an issue. And lawyers are even crazier now.
How long have you had the vehicle and how many miles are on it? I think, depending on your state of course, after 30 days of it being in the shop, you can employ the lemon law if they can't figure out what the problem is.
