The Encore is getting some updates. It's possible we could expect updates for the Trax, just haven't seen anything yet!

The Buick Encore subcompact crossover and its international derivatives are getting a facelift and we’ve got the spy photos to prove it.

It’s hard to tell exactly what’s going on in these shots but it appears there’s a new grille hiding under all of that bulky camouflage in addition to an updated front bumper and redesigned headlamps.

‘Round back we expect the Encore’s tail-lamps to get restyled and its aft bumper to be slightly changed. Given the lack of protective coverings on this end of the car it’s likely these changes are still in the works and may not see the light of day until the vehicle debuts.

As for what’s under the hood, a new turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine is rumored to join the lineup as an optional powerplant. The Encore’s cabin and infotainment system will likely benefit from a few minor enhancements as well.

the 1.0T is probabaly not for our market. Far too wheezy in the Encore/Trax. It would fly in the Spark for sure.

There is going to be a new engine for the next gen Encore?

Sounds exciting. I hope it packs a little bit of punch. Do we know how much power the new engine has?

Going off of what we're seeing here that seems to be the case.

It was said to be a 1.0 Turbo, so my guess is north of 150HP
