This vehicle has been nothing but issue after issue. Air condition died, clutch recently failed, run hot always, misfiring, leaking antifreeze to the point now the engine is shot…..problem after problem and repairs are expensive….had to give it Up for scrap cost too much to fix, clutch cost $3000 a few weeks later motor gone. Cost $5600 to replace

Sorry to read that about your 2016 Trax, can you share any details such as model type (LS, LT or Premier), FW or AWD, and miles? Did you purchase it new? Have you been towing with it? (which is not recommended if it has been used for towing). Was normal maintenance done at the recommended intervals? This can not be enjoyable to write about but possibly could help others out.

It sounds like your 5-year powertrain warranty just ran out in 2021 I would expect the clutch and motor would have been covered by that if it happened in the 5-year warranty period. Options are available for an extended warranty on the powertrain and bumper to bumper for that matter to other Trax owners reading this post.

With respect to the motor, the forum has had posts about turbo issues for owners in cold regions and TSB's are available that may help with that and the repair possibly could be covered after 5 years. But sounds like you do not own your Trax anymore.
