Hi does anyone know how to replace the rear dome light bulb? I've checked the manual and online and can't find one mention of it. I'm afraid to pull the whole housing out yet it doesn't appear that I can take just the case cover off. Thank you in advance

If its the kind of dome light that I remember the lens should pop out using a small screwdriver.

Position the screwdriver between the lens and the housing slowly pry it, (what you are doing is distorting the lens so the tabs come out of the slots) the lens cover is held in with 4 tabs the tabs fit into slots in the housing the lens is flexible once out of the housing.

I tried to find a picture of the dome light on line but I could not find too much on the 17 get me a pic if you can.

Thank you so much for answering. Attached is a picture. no matter what position the switch is in it won't light. I started to take it out but my gut told me I wasn't doing it correctly. Just like you in your attempt to help I can't find anything online and there is no mention of replacing interior lights in the manual

What did the roof liner look like after re-install?

The reason I was asking is because your lamp assembly still has the retaining clip on it.
The manual says to separate the retaining clip from the housing to remove, which mean the clip should remain on the top side of the headliner. Did you remove this clip and slip it back into the roof space before pushing the housing back in or did you somehow just stuff it back in there?

Did you swap out for an LED festoon? If so what type?

I saw your picture. The retaining clip is still attached to it.
Also if you find that your remote doesn't work as well as before it could be your dome light interfering with the RCDLR module sitting right besides the dome light. Some LEDs have a voltage multiplier or DC to DC converter that create RF waves. The first one I installed in my dome light did just that so I had to change it to a different type.

Thanks for the heads up..for now it does not seem to be causing an issue ..but i will keep my eye on it..

When the dome light was on I had to be real close to the vehicle for them to work. I would also get a noise in the radio until the dome would fade away. Couldn't remote start unless I was standing beside it because you have to press lock first and that would turn on the dome light.
