Hi Guys:

I hope you are fine. I have the following problem. My 2018 Trax has the check engine light on, with the referred DTC´s P01710-00 / U0401-71. Investigating a bit, I found that it might be the MAF sensor, so I cleaned it and later replaced it. Although the shutter seems to be improved a little bit, the check engine came on again, and the shuttering won´t completely go away. Any ideas on what to check next? or is it time for the dealership to scan and diagnose the car?

Thank you, I appreciate any help you can provide.

I am having the same issue with my 2016. The codes were showing the o2 sensor and MAF, changed them both. Car ran great for about 2 days and the light came back on and the shuttering started. Checked the codes, same thing. Took it to the garage and explained the issue. They cleared all the codes and reset the computer and it was showing multiple misfires. I just did a full plug and harness replacement two months ago but ok sure. So found two broken plugs. Went ahead and changed the two plugs and put the new coil pack in. Things were good for about 2 days and BOOM lights are back on and she's shuttering showing its the o2 sensor and MAF. My brother suggested throwing some fuel injector cleaner in it so I tried that (easy $3 fix) worked great for four days, the lights are back on and she's shuttering. I can't stop at red lights without keeping the engine revved and people think I wanna try and race them with my little orange car. Im about $800 in the hole at this point and no idea what is wrong with this thing. The next step is to take her up to the Chevy dealer, but I know that's gonna be expensive, and right now I've sunk every spare penny I have into what was supposed to be a simple fix.

Update on my 2018 Trax with similar codes. I have replaced the MAF, the camshaft cover and the oxygen sensor. That hasn't fixed the issue. my check engine still goes off, but Intermittent. For some days the light is off, and then on, but I have 2 updates, that I hope to help you as well.
1. I did notice that it did improve the shutter. But I live in Phx, so now it is hot. I noticed that when days are over 80° the check engine is off, but today, it was cooler, at about 70° the light came on again. I am thinking that maybe a temperature sensor might be causing this.
2. I asked ChatGPT about this issue, the bot told found that maf, o2 and camshaft cover can cause this, but also broken spark plugs, low battery voltage, damage wiring harness, and faulty ECMs can cause the issue.
I am more inclined to investigate the temp. sensor and see if this has something to do with, and the battery change.
