Greetings,

Does anyone know if GM is now delivering their new vehicles with 100% synthetic oil or is it the Synthetic blend?
Thanks
Bob

Synthetic blend is a blend of conventional oil and synthetic. Straight synthetic is exactly that, completely synthetic, which I would rather have with a turbo, since the oil gets quite hot running thru the bearings of the turbo.

Dexos1 GM oil has been full syn for awhile now. That is what they use and recommend.

If you use an oil not GM Dexos1 approved you may have just voided your warranty on the engine.

I trust our local shop. But the dealer is now open on Saturdays and match prices. So I've been going back to them since it's closer.

Dexos1 labelled, full synthetic 5w-30 if you want to keep the warranty in tact.
