Build date location

Does anyone know of the location of the build date on our Trax.

I see a few recalls and I would like to know before winter if I need to get anything repaired.

On most GM cars the build date is right inside the drivers door there is no tag other than the tire information.

I did find the RPO codes but noting on the code list looks like a date.

BTW the RPO codes on my 2015 are on the left hand side of the lower glove box if anyone is interested.
These codes tell you about the equipment and options installed in your car from the factory.....

Thanks in advance.

Here's a guide of sorts.

If you need to find your VIN, you can first check any documentation you have for the vehicle, such as:

Vehicle title.
Registration card.
Insurance documents.
Owner's manual.
Body shop repair records.
Police reports.
Vehicle history report.

Once you have the Vin you can look at two numbers to determine the manufacture date.

Manufacturer: Chevrolet

VIN Characters: 17 (beginning with MA6...)

Decode:

7th character represents the MONTH of Manufacture
9th character represents the YEAR of Manufacture

Month Codes:

A = JAN
B = FEB
C = MAR
D = APR
E = MAY
F = JUN
G = JUL
H = AUG
J = SEP
K = OCT
L = NOV
M = DEC

Year Codes:

A = 2010
B = 2011
C = 2012
D = 2013
E = 2014
F = 2015
G = 2016
H = 2017
J = 2018
K = 2019

I found this on a GM truck forum but it should work the same.

My trax comes out S and a 1 for the 7th and 9th I don't think this table will work.

It's possible the table above represents US made vehicles.

The only thing you will get from a title is the month and date of the day it was registered in the state.

Registration cards only show renewal dates title and vin numbers.

Most GM cars I have owned show the build month and year on the tag inside the drivers door, I'm sure there is a code somewhere on the car just can't find anything that appears to be one.

Thanks for your help I will stop by the dealer next time I get near them.

Maybe someone else on the forum has already found the location of their Trax's manufacturing date.
Yes I found them today, while getting into the car I noticed a sticker way down low, it is on the post that separates the front and rear doors.

When I was in the garage looking for the sticker it was kind of dark I never expected to see a sticker that low.

Most of those are higher up so they can be seen.
