Can Cruise Control Be Added to the LS?

We are currently shopping and are happy with the LS model with one exception, it lacks cruise control. We asked the dealer if this could be added but when they checked with the service department they told us it wasn't set up for this yet and couldn't do it. I really don't want to spend an extra $5000 to get cruise (on the LT model), which is the only feature I really want.

Does anyone actually own the US version new 2015 LS model that has actually added on cruise? I see a aftermarket part available online but not sure if this would only apply to the trax in other countries.

But, if you really want the cruise control and the LT has it. Why not spend the $500 and be happy ? After market would not look like factory does and you get a few extras'. Most of all, you have the option you wanted. How often do people buy a new car, reward yourselves.
If it were only $500 I would buy the LT but it is $5000 (five thousand). That's a huge difference! That's a really nice overseas vacation! :)
Hmm its a tough choice. Either shell out the money or look into other models. Maybe if you threaten the dealer with going to another dealership he might change his tune.
WOW!! I would have never thought the cruise control cost so much.

Not bad at all. Avoiding going to the dealership will save some time and money since a dealer could easily tack on an hours worth of work.
Back in 2008 I bought a new Silverado base model it didn't come with cruise.

The chevy dealer sent it out to a small local installer, no bolt on hardware was required just one button placed on the dash.

The modifications were all done to the computer wireing, because the Trax has the same electronic gas pedal it should be the same.

I would check at Best Buy to see if they have a cruise unit, it will probably be incorporated with a GPS.

I know right, almost not worth the money for me, i'd rather do without and just ensure the next time that I get a vehicle with it.
So I guess I am the guinea pig on this one. I just ordered the Trax Cruise control kit from Flyboy.
We will find out soon how well this looks and installs and works.

This kit is supposed to be all plug in connections and have the factory Cruise buttons on the steering wheel even though it is an aftermarket cruise module. The install sounds like it should be pretty simple.

Now IF I can just remember to use my camera while I do this........................

I will try to start a new how to thread for this install.

The dealership had this done for us when we purchased the car.

Is the Cruise Control kit with in steering wheel control still available from Flyinfool? I just bought a 2019 Chevy Trax LS and live in Canada.
You would have to PM Flyboy , but he is probably subscribed to this thread and should get a head's up.
I find it a little strange that your 2015 LS has no cruise on it while my 2013 LS has it. Not sure if it’s a difference between a Canadian Trax (mine) and yours
I can't believe in 2020 that cruise control is not standard
