Despite all reports to the contrary, the Chevrolet Trax is now coming to the U.S.


The announcement comes from GM CEO, Mary Barra, who said that the Trax will be added to the American automaker’s lineup during a press conference today in New York City. The Trax has been sold in foreign markets including China, Canada and Mexico.

The Trax is built on the same platform as the Chevrolet Sonic and is closely related to the Buick Encore. In the Canadian market, the Trax is powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 138 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque.

The current Trax has been on the market since 2012, so there’s a possibility that a new Trax will be headed to the U.S. market. The American automaker is holding a press conference during a pre-show event for the New York Auto Show tonight, so expect more news soon.

it's good to see a report like this announcing that the trax is indeed making it's way to the US for way too long it has only been sold in canada, finally we're starting to get it
