Unfortunately the TRAX has not been given a price as of yet, however it has been priced in Canada for over a year now. Lets see if we can draw some parallels between the Encore and TRAX in Canada and see how close we get in actuality...

In Canada the TRAX starts at $18,695 and the Encore begins at $27,835. In other words the TRAX is priced at 67% of the Buick Encore in Canada.

Now for the US assumptions...

The US spec Encore begins at $24,160, now lets take that 67% of figure and apply it. 67% of the Encores US price comes to $16,187.

You think $16,187 is a reasonable starting figure for the TRAX?

Another thing to consider with the pricing of the Trax in the US is the price of the Equinox. The Equinox is basically a larger version of the Trax, so it wouldn't make any sense for the Trax to cost more than the Equinox.

The Equinox starts at $24,440, so the Trax is going to have to start at least a bit lower than that. Your calculation based on the Encore's price seems to make sense then. I think that the Trax will end up starting at somewhere around $16k-$17k.

ok lets bring Equinox into the equation. Going back to chevrolet.ca we see that the TRAX is $18,695 and the Equinox is $26,375. So TRAX is priced at 70% of Equinox. 70% of Equinox US MSRP ($24,440) gives us $17,108 whch is not at all far from the original speculation of $16,187...

However do keep in mind that there will be copious overlap, I went to build and price on chev.ca, just selecting AWD and LTZ (no additional options added) gooses your price up to $32K CAD a full $6K over Equinox's MSRP...

Just clarifying what @rmouthaan said above.

What do you mean by "Add the AWD option you add at about 10 grant more"

Do you mean that the AWD option will cost $10,000 more? That seems like a lot more than the premium for that will end up being.

You would think that it being July and the TRAX expected in the US for Q4 we might have some kind of inclination about price. I mean I tihnk out hackneyed guess is fairly accurate but some confirmation would be nice....
