Error code P0496 2016 Chevy Trax 41K miles. I replaced the gas cap to see if that may be the problem. Do I need to have the error code cleared or if that fixed the problem will it clear itself?
What is the next thing to check and or possibly replace? Part number?
For such low miles this car has had a few problems. It mostly sits in the driveway.
Hopefully an easy fix as it's not really in the budget. This may be my imagination but I smell a gas smell while driving. Thank you so much!

After reading your second post I did a quick google search for "P0496 2016 Chevy Trax" and the link below appeared, it describes the issue and gives suggestions if you want to try to fix it yourself.

I am not a certified mechanic I just google things and try to understand what's going on out of interest.

If you help with this I can read the article and give suggestions (a small amount of time each day I keep busy) I expect within a week what can be done on your own should be complete.
