When sunny, headlights on DRL off. When dark, headlights on, DRL dim.

DRL and low beam come from the BCM module. DRL are just the low beam being pulse modulated to reduce power on the bulb. So I'd say either your module is bad or you have the wrong bulbs in place.

I assume it's LT at least which then uses the led strip as DRL?
