Bit of a strange one this. If I park up and the auto stop kills the engine but I remain in the car, Ignition on. After maybe 5 minutes the car will start itself apparently as a security feature. Well this was no problem until about a year ago when the engine would struggle to auto start, sound quite bad and die. It would then take a few attempts to start the engine. Also to coincide with this, I have noticed the clutch pedal would be engaged around 30% and I'd have to use my foot to bring the pedal back out fully to engage 1st gear. Any help would be appreciated as I'm not entirely sure where to begin.

Start with the clutch pedal.

Mine is automatic but there are sensors on the clutch to detect it's position which are sent to the ECM so if your clutch isn't coming back to top dead chances are your auto start may be affected. Maybe just a broken return spring on the pedal.
