I don't believe there to be a fuel filter. Those have been disoncontinued years ago amongst common vehicles. On the bottom of the fuel pump is a fuel strainer. To change the pump, most likely need to drop the tank.
Thank you T Rax for that info. In my younger years I have replaced a lot of those bronze filters in fuel lines.
They would get clogged often. Then I installed a bigger see-through filter by cutting the fuel line. That solved the clogging problem. Not only that one time my Chevy Nova would not start. All I had to do was open the hodd and saw there was no fuel flowing through the filter. Instantly I knew the fuel pump had gone bad. I called the dealer to come tow my car and change the fuel pump. The man on phone was shocked how I knew the fuel pump had gone bad. 60,000 miles did it I told him and blah blah.
Do not run out of fuel before refueling, pay attention to the degree of each start of the engine, and replace the fuel filter frequently, which can extend the service life of the fuel pump
