I just bought a Chevy Trax LT with the LT plus package.

I just have a few questions.

1.

The Trax has an mpg meter that you can reset......however I like seeing the instantaneous mpg(which I cannot find or it does not have)

My brother has a cruze that has the instantaneous mpg, I was wondering if the Trax has it.

2.
Does the Trax have a timing belt or a timing chain?

3 .
The MPG in my car says it's getting 26.2 for this tank of fuel (I reset it after the dealership refueled)

Onstar initially said 28mpg for the lifetime of the vehicle, however now onstar says 20 mpg for the life of the vehicle after driving a couple hundred more miles......however the trip computer says 26.2........

4.
After I end a phone call through Bluetooth the cars computer resets it to the main screen.....it does not go back to the radio screen/prior screen

.....this is very annoying, is there a way to change this?

5.
I assume there is no voice commands associated with pressing the talk button on the Trax steering wheel

If I press the call button it brings up the phone option on the touch screen.

If I press the call button on the steering wheel again it calls the last person I called

I have an android phone and id like it if i couls click the call button twice and put voice commands through to the phone (if I click the phone button twice I can put voice commands though the car into the phone)
........why can't the car make the phone do this is beyond me......

Just a few gripes I have in case your buying a Trax

Just checked

Onstar says 19mpg now for the lifetime of my vehicle

......this is wayyyyyy below the marketed mpg.

I have been driving VERY EASY on the throttle keeping the RPMS below 2000 for the majority of the time and never going over 3000rpm. I have gone above 2000 RPMS maybe 3-5 times while merging on the highway.

However if Onstar is wrong and my vehicles dash mpg is correct this would make more sense.

I have not seen a locking gas cap or door on a car in some time. Perhaps the design of the vehicles now discourages syphoning etc...or cheaper gas prices LOL ? We also have had issues with making calls from time to time but...that was not the reason for us buying the car. I am sure someone here can help you.

Update:

Today used no AC and drove as easily as i could on the throttle.

On the way home in traffic used the "manual mode" to keep the RPMs as low as possible.

Today on the way home got 37mpg on dash, lifetime mpg on Onstar is now 28mpg.

No I really don't use anything like AC since the last time I reported this MPG it has gone up to 31.5.

I don't use AC that much on anything I own, I love the summer and windows down weather.

I get more use of of a heater than I do an AC system, I buy cars with AC mainly for resale purposes.
