New to Chevy Trax!
Purchased my 2015 Chevrolet Trax on January 21st from Webb Chevrolet of Plainfield Illinois.
I visited just two dealerships, and decided on the one with the better value for my trade, since the price-range for the vehicle would be the same in most of my area. The only two trims I test-drove were the LS and the LT, the LS consisting of two separate vehicles, the FWD and AWD vehicles, one from each dealership.
I noticed a bit of a lag on the acceleration when taking the AWD LS for a spin, while the FWD LT was sporting a blinking Battery light on the dashboard. The salesperson said this was fine and it could just be a bad sensor or something, but I'm not one to gamble with first impressions, not to mention the FWD LT was way out of my price range. I had to have them deliver the LS FWD I purchased from Oak Lawn since the sales manager claimed they didn't have any available at the Plainfield location.
The AWD LS Trax I test-drove at the prier dealership was going for $21995, while the FWD LT was at the mid-end of $23995. Both were tempting, however, when I test-drove the FWD LS I was hooked. The starting price for the FWD LS was $20995, so it was closer to the price-range of my budget. All three had the $500 cash-back incentive Chevrolet was offering for the Trax model, plus the dealership was able to accommodate a trade-in value of $1700 more than the previous one offered. I was able to finance with an interest of 2.9%, for 84 months, at $198.00 a month, which was not bad.
Currently, my Chevrolet Trax is 2874 miles old, and the only issue I've had so far was the OnStar module going bad at about 1000 miles. I do have to admit I had been stalking this car since it went on market in the fall of 2012 as the 2013 model in Canada and a few other places before hitting the US showrooms. In the fall of 2014, when it went on sale here, I knew I was going to buy it, it was just a matter of when.
