Just signed up in anticipation. Hoping to gather information as we head towards a potential purchase. TRAX isn't really the front runner what with all the exasperating recalls coming out of GM ATM, but we'll see. Been loyal to them in the past!

Welcome aboard.
Where about are you from?
Have you checked out the Buick Encore to get a taste of what you can expect in the Trax?

I think the one saving grace for GM is that the recalls have been on older cars for the most part. It seems like whatever issues they were having was an old problem that they are taking care of now. Their new cars don't seem to be involved in many of the recals.

That's what I have noticed too, slowly they are losing the long standing rep they had for horrible unreliable vehicles. A LOT of people are considering a GM vehicle these days

J.G., welcome to the Trax forum.

recalls and gm

always in the same sentence
Can't blame him though...it has been on my mind too.

That said, I take the perspective of viewing the recalls as proof that the GM of today is willing to promptly own up to mistakes and rectify them. Gives me more confidence in a GM product actually. All the large automakers have recalls these days -- some just produce more publicity than others.

isnt it great when you learn the car you've been driving for like 15 years is prone to fires or deathly safety issues? :p

Not something I'd like to find out especially when hauling around a family. I find it funny how over a decade later they announce things like this.
