Tammy Wanless was plesently surprised when her phone rang and on the other end was the Digital Advertising Director for The Times Media Co. he was calling to let her know she had just won a 2015 Chevrolet TRAX.

It was a sweepstakes put on by the Northwest Indiana Chevrolet Dealers and the Times Media Co. The Wanless family was the 7th to drive away with a brand new Chevrolet courtesy of the annual sweepstakes.

David Sikkenga, district sales manager for Chevrolet says that the sweepstakes has helped propel the Chevrolet brand to the number 1 spot in the Chicagoland area over the last 4 years.

Sikkenga also says that they tallied more then 15,000 entries over the two month window. Tim Wanless was beaming that his wife found this bit of fortune, "She's the kind that gives and gives and gives, so it's really nice to see her get something," he said.

Good for her. Can't complain much about winning a new car.

I do wonder how they know that the sweepstakes helped to make Chevy the number one brand in the Chicago area. How do they isolate the sweepstakes effect? Maybe they'd be number one even without the annual sweepstakes.

That's just me being a media critic though. :p

well its part of the campaign that the agency runs for the area chevy dealers...
