There is a tool, KN-6009, that you screw into the two hole where the hold down bolts go. The bolts take an M8 metric thread. You can find the tool on EBay from $15 to $50. You can use M8 bolts from the hardware store to accomplish the same thing. This gives you a good grip for a straight up removal which is less likely to tear the boots

GM had so much trouble with this it sent out a bulletin to the techs with many pictures of torn boots.The threaded holes in the coil rail are bigger than the hold down bol t threads and you can tell that the use of pulling

tool was part of the intended design.
I'll soon be replacing my trax's plug for the first time. I'm doing everything I can not to mess it up
