I am not sure what or how it happened, but the immbolizer light has come on. A few days ago I couldn't start my 2016 Trax and got a jump. I confirmed that the battery is good. When I got home, it still wouldn't start until I started it remotely. Since then it has been sluggish to turn over. Again, it wouldn't start today in the rain, but it started right up with the remote inside the car.

Does anyone know how to reset this, or is it a problem for the dealership?

Thanks,
Kathy

Did you try the other key?

A previous forum member had a similar problem caused by too much junk hanging from the key and it misaligned the ignition barrel. I can't remember if he replaced the barrel or just fixed the misaligned switch.

I had a similar issue with the immobilizer, the light would come on but the car still started and ran normally. It turned out that there was a code present that my reader could not see and there was a service bulletin on what the dealer had to do to fix it. The dealer would not give me details on the fix. I am pretty sure it was just in the software.
