Got my 2020 Trax about a year ago. The last six months or so my Stabilitrak light will randomly come on and then go back off. Usually it goes away when I turn it off and back on. But lately it's been coming on and disabling my cluster, brakes, steering and cuts the power down to maybe half of first gear basically rendering it undrivable for the time. I've tried pulling codes and nothing comes back. Took her to the dealership to have it checked and there's nothing they can do about the issue. We have checked some of the probable causes and everything is normal.
So my question becomes is it possible to disable this at will? I know about the button but I want it to stay off. Is there any other systems that could cause the problem? We've checked brakes, and injectors and ignition system?
As far as disabling Stabilitrak I've seen where some guys have spliced in switches to the fuses on the Silverados. Not sure if that could work or not on the Trax.

I'd park it at the dealership until they fix it. Not something you should have to "go around".

Stabilitrak is a symptom of a greater problem, sound like you have a bad ground or maybe just a bad battery or battery terminal corroded. If system voltage drops bellow 11 volts like when you have a bad cell it will provoke all your problems.

You can only deactivate Stabilitrak for a short period of time it will automatically turn back "ON" when you reach a certain speed. When in park press and hold the T/C button for 15 seconds.

You won't need to disable it if you find the underlying issue. Have your battery checked.

Your battery may read right with no load, doesn't mean it's good. Put a meter on it and turn your high beams on for 30 seconds and monitor the voltage. It should not go under 12.3 volts. If it goes under 11 volts or suddenly drop by 2.3 volts you have a bad battery, even if it still starts the Trax okay on 5 cells.

My 2020 trax is now in the shop for the 3rd time for this same issue. So far, I have replace the fuse block, then they said the master cylinder was binding, then they said it was the abs module and a valve...it is currently in AGAIN for the same thing. I paid $719.00 for the fuse block, they reimbursed the towing the second time, after I left the service center and it was "fixed", 3 miles down the road it lock up again. This has been going on for a little over 3 months, they have it again and no word yet on what they think is wrong. My husband is angry, because the 1st time it happened I was doing 70 mph (highway speed here) and the brakes locked up on me. I had no steering, or control of the car when it happened. The dealership couldn't get it to lock up at first, until I had them take the car out and drive the exact route I took. The head mechanic was driving it when it happened this time and said he had never had such a thing happen to him before. I have no idea what's going to happen with it now. We are considering a lawyer, because it's not safe to drive. Please be careful, my car had 47000 miles on it when this all started, with upkeep etc. It's both scary and dangerous, I have been lucky so far.

ok, mine appears to FINALLY be fixed after 6 months of headaches. It turned out to be the brake booster and master cylinder, according to the dealership.
