I like to talk a bit about my experience with the MyLink system.
The screen in the middle of the dashboard is the MyLink screen. It is the display of the entertainment system. Know that the Trax does not come with CD player!
This has been surpassed with a USB connector in the top storage space on the passenger side. You can connect any kind of music player through the USB connection or just load your music on a plain USB stick. The main screen will display the track information just as a regular music player (like iPod) would do.
The central screen also is the display for the backup camera view which is activated when shifting in reverse. The camera view will override anything that is currently displaying.
Blue tooth: the Mylink system can connect to probably all mobile phone systems. I have an Iphone and a Samsung connecting through it without any issues. Its purpose: mobile communicating using the MyLink screen and the car's audio.
Just enable blue tooth on your mobile device. The MyLink system will scan the area (or forced rescan if no device found) and if your device is found connect to it. You can have your contacts list and your history displayed. YOu can operate your mobile phone through the MyLink system and talk and listen to the person on the other end without holding your phone.
Apps: there are some aps you can download to your mobile device which then also can be managed using the MyLink screen. Two default apps pre recognized by the MyLink are: BringGo and TuneIn radio. I have not used the BringGo system basically because our town is not big enough to make it useful for me. Tunein gives you internet radio through your mobile device.
Radio: yes, it has normal radio functionality with all features a modern radio system has.
Sirius satelite radio: Two month (or three) free trial available, then they will contact you if you want to buy membership. Satelite radio sucks here in Yellowknife because I have non-stop interference. Maybe because all our communication in Yellowknife is using Satelite. I did not buy membership.
OnStar: six month free onstar, then they will contact you if you want membership. I like the OnStar app on my iPhone. It can contact your car (where ever it might be) and get the latest status of mileage, fuel, any warning etc. Onstar exists of several packages of which you can choose.
All with all a nice feature of the Trax.
