How do you remove the square headed bolts on the transfer case to the rear differential?

Square head bolts need an 8 point socket, if you have a sears nearby you might find some 8 point sockets.

They used to be included with socket sets years ago, I haven't seen them in many years.

I don't think I ever used 8 points for anything other than carriage bolts in my lifetime.
