TRAX and Encore Co-Exist

There was some worry that the arrival of the TRAX in US showrooms would crater the success of the diminutive Buick. Just the opposite in fact...

Encore sales have grown 28% since the TRAX debuted. Wonder what happens when the Honda gets here...

Amazing how that works, meanwhile the Encore is $10k more.

At the start I thought the Buick would see lower sales numbers, not the Trax, just goes to show the market potential here.
In some ways the Trax may be responsible for increasing Encore sales. People go in to look at the Trax and then they ask, "I like this, but is there something more?" And then they go and look at the Encore, a more luxurious version. Some of those people may never have gone to look at a Buick had it not been for the Trax in the first place.

I'm not sure how big that effect would be, or if it exists. May just be a product of the segment being quite popular.
True. I'll admit, the Trax may not be the greatest option out there, it's not for everyone but at least GM still comes out winning since they're still benefiting greatly from the same platform.

It would be great to see what these people who bought the Encore think of the Trax, that might provide some pointers to Chevy on how to improve it.

Well Chevy just did a refresh for MY2016 for the Trax. Not sure how much of that was influenced by what is seen as the good points of the Encore.

Probably little effect if any. GMC and Buick are sold in different show rooms to keep differentiation from Chevrolet.
Chances are Chevy looked to similarly priced vehicles and segments for the chances they made
I can see why Buick would be in a separate show room because the two brands have vehicles that are quite similar. GMC doesn't seem to have as much connection, but perhaps that is just me being less familiar with GMC vehicles.

GMC and Buick share a showroom to keep those two separate from Chevrolet. GMC overlaps with Chevrolet more so then Buick does.
I think that the Trax and Encore are in more trouble because of competitors than each other. HRV, CX3, GLA, etc... All new vehicles that make the segment even more competitive.

Just wait for Acura to come online with their CUV that will directly rival the Encore :D

It's only getting tougher.

For us that means better GM products.
Is this announced or confirmed or anything, or are we just assuming that Acura is going to be making a CUV rival because that would make sense?
