Brother stopped bye and we looked at his 2017 Buick Encore (Preffered Package). Exterior of the car looks really nice and the 18" tires are sharp too. But I was comparing a 2014 to a 2017, the interior layout of our 2014 LT2 is more user friendly I think. The Buick provides more bling... large touch screen, more instrument displays etc, but things like the 110 v outlet, usb port look all hidden tucked away in the bottom of a cubby hole. The Trax has way more little compartments for holding items in the front dash. This is a bare bones model Buick but being a Buick I still expected to be wowed more ? Maybe the wow comes in the ride and quieter ride etc...? Makes me appreciate the Trax layout a little more for us anyway.

The loaded Buick is really really sweet, its almost a different vehicle. But no manual And here are absolutely NO DEALS to be had on the Buick.

My Buick is the middle model for 16, its called the convenience, my Trax was a 15 LT also the middle model it has everything my Trax had and more.

The Buick is nicer inside, it has more standard equipment, things like lane departure warning, blind spot warning, electronic AC, and quiet ride I did not expect.

I did love my Trax it was plain and simple, I love the Buick more, if I knew the Buick was that nice I wouldn't have wasted my money on the Trax.

If I were a buyer today in for the long haul I would buy a left over 15 Buick or Chevy, because of the 100K warranty, but for my needs I would buy this Buick again in a second.

What I really wanted was for Cadillac to pick up this platform and do something with it. Looking at what they have going on currently I can only imagine how great Cadillac's version of the Trax/Encore would be, and maybe that's the next move? That segment is growing after all.

Cadillac would love one, the problem GM is having is it can't meet demand as it is. Dealers are getting their orders cut back 75 percent. So there is absolutely no way for GM to fit another model on those two production lines. They have actually narrowed the engine choices to the 1.4T in all or most of their markets to pump out more of these things.
