Trax Midnight Edition -- It's the Trax, except everything is black

Well, Chevy sure has put their heart and soul into this one. The Trax Midnight Edition is a cosmetic package that can be added to the Trax LTZ (based at $26,125 in the US) for $500 starting in February.

So what is so special about the Trax Midnight Edition?

The Midnight Edition takes the upper-level LTZ trim and adds a whole bunch of black things to it. Those things include: blacked-out wheels, headlight bezels, trim, door handles, a rear license-plate embellishment, and grey accents and piping in the interior. That's it. The Trax Midnight Edition is otherwise stock.

I don't think I've ever seen a better looking vehicle than the Trax. No matter what color it is or what the Trim is (LS, LT, LTZ), it looks great. I've read negative reviews online explaining that it has a bland interior and exterior, but I just don't see how it could be bland. In regards to the Trax Midnight Edition, if you like the color black, you'll love this. Even I love it, but I personally like the Trax with the two-tone color look, not just all black.
This version does look quite nice, but I don't think the Trax is a great example of beautiful design. it is a well-designed economy vehicle that won't offend anyone, but I don't see a romance in the design. There aren't any spectacular design features.
Guess I'm too old. Don't really care for all black wheels. Owned a black '96 Impala SS and always thought the wheels set it off by offsetting all that black paint. Man that was a lot of black to wax.....

Exactly the wheels are suppose to be noticeable not blend in and not be seen.

They are suppose to be seen, not hidden.
I've never really thought that wheels are supposed to be seen. If the body color were something other than black, would you have a different opinion?
It really depends who you ask, some people like wheels blacked out no matter the design and color of car, others are very particular about what colors to have on certain wheel designs and body color. For me at times its the latter.
I would judge based on the color combination of the wheels and the body. For example, I think black wheels looks good with a darker blue body color.
They have their place, also depends on how its done. Sometimes on lighter color cars it can look good, a lot of variations to factor in.
I think that these blacked out cars with everything black are a bit too dark. Contrast with a graphite exterior color can be a good option.
