Definitely surely, I mean the Encore made away with a 5 star overall rating from the NHTSA and was named an IIHS 2013 Top Safety Pick. TRAX also has a 5 star rating from Euro NCAP on the trophy shelf as well as being named safest car of the year in Korea.

no you want that deformation to a degree, otherwise the impact shokwave travels through to the passenger. Thats why its better for a motorcycle helmet to crack on impact that to dent/flex. Full crack/breakage dissipates the forces of impact.

good point, that is true, best to let it take on some of the impact, as long as it doesn't give up on the safety of the driver which it didn't so much

I'm sure they know what they are doing with measuring results but it does look scary still. Gm could use some good safety news after their run last year.
