Water leaking and pooling under the spare tire

Please be AWARE I have found water in the back under my spare tire, this is my second Trax I've bought a Basic model first and had it at the dealers service 3 fucking times for a leak search they did not find nothing wrong with the back hatch door or the seal under the wiper everything was okay except when it rained I had a pool under the spare. So I traded in my basic model for an LT AWD same Year, this was in May 15 and I decided to check the spare after a few rainy days just recently and it is the same with my LT model it started to leak in to the back. So far I've an appointment at the service in a week. Please let me know if any of You had any of this leak. "You need to check the back after a car wash or prolonged rain.

Had that issue with a Sunbird many moons ago. I never checked before hopefully never need to remove the spare. But, maybe a good idea to check in the Spring. Is there still a rubber plug in the bottom of the spare tire well ? Should have a one way valve to allow water to drain. Better yet, as you say not leak at all.
It could be getting in through the tail lights as well
Beeguz has a good point. That was where dealer found the leak on my Sunbird. Have someone get in the trunk with flashlight. Spray the car good with water and look to see water entering thru tail lights , weather stripping etc...
What we used to do was park the car in the garage turn off the garage lights then with someone in the car shine a bright light from outside.

Work around the areas most prone to leaks until you see light, pin point the area then repair it with any means necessary, sometimes its just adjusting the rubber or taking out a light and sealing it.
:eek:Thanks Guys but I guess the car was sprayed under pressure at the dealer for hours 3 times and they have the proper equipment to do this **** and nothing at all not a drop, so I wonder how will I do magic with a garden house or a flash light in a dark room, and then why did I dish out 30K just so I have something to do, it is the fucking manufacturer who is suppose to have this resolved.?
Dealers don't have the cream of the crop working for them, they get people who are willing to work for what they pay.

If you want to put up with the leak until one of them stumbles upon it, that is fine with me.
You could try taking it to another dealer and see if they can spot the leak?
2017 Chevy Trax Leaks

I have only had my Trax less than 6 months and it has been in the shop for over 3 weeks identifying numerous leaks due to water in the wheel well. The leaks are not easily identifiable and they have taken apart the entire rear of the vehicle to find leaks coming from the roof rack, tail lights, clips securing the bumper, a pinhole leak near an area where the car was welded, and the list goes on. I would not have know about this expect that the amplifier quit working because it got wet from all the water. I have filed a claim with GM and filed a report to the National Highway and Traffic Administration, in hopes they recall the vehicle due to a design flaw.

I would start the lemon law action, do whatever it takes in your state, to get away from that car.
If a car starts out that badly its not going to get any better.

They are cars that are just lemons from the word go, you sound like you have one.

I have a 2016 Trax and found really wet carpets today on left side. Water was coming in through the roof rack mounts because a nut was completely missing from the mounting. Must be a manufacture issue as it has not had any panelwork done. Hope this helps.
