So I took my Trax for an oil change and the next day when I drove to work I went to park in the parking garage and all of a sudden I hear a crunching noise. I clipped a concrete pillar. What happened to my sensors???? Why didn't they alert me??? And why can't I figure out how to put them back on.
I feel like the place that turned them off should pay half of the repair.

I did a little test with mine and a plastic safety bollard. If the object is over 18 inches from the corner of the bumper the sensor does not go off. I could see it in the camera and the side mirror but got no alert. If I had then turned into it I would have hit it. So objects 18 inches and closer it picks up. This was a bright orange bollard in daylight so it had great contrast. I don't know what tech the sensors use but if the contrast was low it could miss it there too.

The sensor may not pick up a pillar that was to the side.
I did check a different back up location, with a car in the center and my sensors did not pick it up.
So true what speedandstyle said.

Also here is how to turn it back on if it is off. View attachment 7042

Thank you I will certainly do that. So how was it turned off?
Hard to tell, but from your photo, it looks like you don't have the Park Assist feature which would have the sensors, two of three shown:

Ultrasonic sonar.

I did look at my bumper yesterday after work and saw that you are correct. I do not have tose sensors. So I guess my problem is the sound is not on my backup camera??? I did back up to a wall and there was no sound as I got pretty darn close. I don't know what to think at this point. its been 5 days now.
Maybe hit the factory reset???

The Driver Confidence Package is one integrated electronics and sensors bundle for the Rear Park Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Alert and Side Blind Zone Alert which needed to have been done on the assembly line.

A Chevy dealer can install an aftermarket solution. Or refer you to a local partner, usually a shop that specializes in high-end audio, hidden radar/laser detection and other aftermarket tech.

Expect to spend a few hundred dollars for your rear assist beeps. The four sensors will be uglier than the factory ones, even when color matched, for extra $$, of course.

I'm done.
