Why does everyone dump everything into "general discussion"?

The Board actually put in a separate forum, for 2024 and newer (second generation)......just for you! Yes....scroll down a few notches, and it is there.....try it out!! Rant over.......;)

At the upper right of the screen you'll see 5 stacked lines just right of New.
When you click on those lines you'll see all the different forums.
Pick the one that best suits your problem. Maybe "Engine and Technical" ??

I just joined and I have to say, I am unaccustomed to this layout. Of course, like many, I came here because I need help. I cannot for the life of me readily, easily locate the section for asking for help.
Usually you find it within a few seconds.

Or, they just don't care or don't realize there are different sections. No worries, when I find the right section, I will ask my question there. Better chance of getting an answer.

When I post I click on the NEW bubble.
Then I click on the Create Post button.

Then I am faced with a bunch of catagories, and I must choose one before I can proceed.

Assuming that is the case for everyone, I would also assume many people don't really know what category their issue best fits in and in a lack of confidence they choose "General Discussion" because they don't want to choose an unrelated category. I know if my grandma was having a problem with a new car and trying to figure it out herself before some shop gouged her $2K, she would be lost as to where to put her post on some dash warning light.

That's the way its been on website forums for as long as forums have existed. Moderators and Admins on most boards used to have the power to move a post to the correct category.

Oh, that 2024 category is not particularly clearly identified. It doesn't apply to me, but I didn't realize it was for all things 2024 either and I've been using the Internet for information for nearly 25 years.

I was on TraverseForum for most of the fall and saw it was pretty much the same.

Searching here by categories isn't particularly effective to find anything, but for the most part the search option works to find specific key words in posts or comments. I found this site while searching the Internet at large for a stock radio issue. Unfortunately Trax are really short on available information online, even here in this forum.
