This is some great info. I'm glad to see someone took the time to tear down an actual second gen (2024 and up) Trax engine after 133k miles and overall, it looks like the car held up really good and just had the usual very high mileage deposits. Wonder if they used Top Tier gas the whole time or not. Also nice to see the wet belt still holding up just fine. Like the man said, don't go past 5k miles between oil changes (3-4k even better).

I messaged him asking to come over here and post it so hopefully all the pics and info will be here for all to see. He posted the info on each pic explaining the details of each one so no real big post of explanation as a whole in one place. Recalling from seeing it earlier, he bought the engine with 133K miles to disassemble it and the parts looked really good overall. The wet belt was absolutely fine. There was some carbon build up on the pistons, etc. but that's kind of expected at high mileage and we don't know if Top Tier gas was used. There was some kind of wear on one part but can't recall what it was. Overall, the engine looked fine and gives you confidence that it can last many miles and kind of shoots down the wet belt naysayers. If he doesn't post them over here, I can do a bigger summary (or Pete can too lol).

Best part is at 133k miles both wet belts are a non-issue.🙂👍
Some piston ring carbon build up. Good candidate for Valvoline Clean and Restore at say 75k miles.
Compression still at 175 PSI. Don't know the spec. but that is high to me for a turbo engine. Excellent!
No oil leaks.
Turbo in great shape, no play in the shaft.
Overall, no worries!
