Yeah. There's the ultrasonic sensor on the Avenir with another most likely on the other side. Thanks for posting those up.

But funny you should bring up the subject as yesterday I visited the first of two local shops that sell and install the aftermarket kits. $550. There would be four sensors mounted on the rear bumper in drilled holes and beeper in the cabin. The sensors are black, grey or white. Black would be my choice as the grey was a bit too light of a shade.

As I did report in #8, the Chevy dealer quoted me $650. I'm thinkin' it'd be worth the extra Franklin for peace of mind. My Trax was that shop owner's first look at a Trax. I mean, first look. The dealer's mechanics have seen at least two or three...

Considering I'll be putting it on plastic to pay off over three or flour months and amortized over a decade or more of ownership, an inconsequential budget/cost impact. I can still afford a dinner and movie night out. Alone.

There might be the possibility they could color match the sensor retainer.

There is one other shop I'll be visiting on Monday for quote.

I scraped about on teh webbuhnets and snagged a screenie typical of the 4-sensor aftermarket install.

BTW: Avenir, from the French l'avenir, the future. Their Avenir will be Buick's final introduction of an ICE vehicle. It's all EV from now on.

It's just strange that the "Build-a-Buick" site doesn't show it anywhere as an option or in a package. When I saw the photo I was like, "What???"

I ordered mine in Canada and when I ordered the package with blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic allert was $300 CAD. Just a couple of weeks after I ordered it increased to $500 CAD and included rear park assist. I was wondering if mine will come with it, but it didn't. I don't think it is a big deal since there is a camera.

Yeah. And I scoured all the build features pages thinking maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. It's not even listed on the Envista home page Safety section.

So $200 more. Did they contact you on that? Just curious.

Anyhow, guys, I'm looking forward to a snapshot or two when yours show up. Hope that's soon. The showing up. Pics can wait, of course.

Cheers.

From your keyboard to the South Korean ship captain's ears......
I'll be posting pics when it does arrive, thought about doing a mini-review, too, from an owner/non-journalist/non-YouTuber.

I saw on the Canadian Build and Price that the price for the package changed after I ordered. I was hoping that mine might include the park assist but no. $200 CAD is also around $150 USD

If I decide on a RPA beeper install, this is the one I've settled upon:
Initially, my rote memory wasn't yet used to focusing on the camera display when I shifted into reverse but up to the (worthless for this process) rear view mirror. I in fact, for a bit, I was actually using that and the side views as I've been for ages and remembering, "Oh yeah. The camera."

And color match, so no black dots on the dark grey bumper.

Once my programming catches to an eyes-shift 100% of the time to the display, it might be I need not choose the beeper at all. (And, yes, I'm looking up and scanning the surrounds, too.)

But then again, it can't hurt. It would have imminent value for a situation where one's attention is focused on unfolding events and slam-panic reverse is realized.

And it's only money. Just $650 by the most respected tech installer in my local (cams, audio, comm, off-road fabs, etc).

BTW: It has been speculated that ultra-sonic sensors can detect disturbances in The Force.

Cheers.

"Why, yes, Officer. I was doing 40 backwards. I have RPA. Reverse Peel-out Assist."

Congrats! I'll follow you over on the Cacti Green Trax Activ thread where you'll be hanging out quite a bit. But please, no more shots of your feet. :)

I'm in final thoughts about the aftermarket install of the RPA and considering an assist setup for the front as well. Deci$ion$, deci$ion$... I'll post up here as it progresses.

Cheers.

I know my GM order number reflects this as this is one of my must have features. I'll wait my time but when I get the call this will be one of the first thing I check as well as the screen blank outs. I'm making my list and before I sign my name and do anything I'll want to inspect the car or I'll request my deposit and walk away.

Not all of them have the screen issue.

Lag I don't really worry about. I tried mine out yesterday and it's snappy, but when it's below freezing I can guarantee it'll be slow to respond.

Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). Pretty common. When I say lag I meant hitting a icon two or three times then snap the action finally takes place.

Our LS has the driver confidence package. It was $250. It has 2 bullet points:
UFG - Rear Cross Traffic Alert
UHX - Lane Active Safety Keep Assist
No Rear Park Assist.
