Thanks, very spot on. I tested it and it is true. It does happens at around 1800 RPMs at a light load. The point when a car exhaust drones.

There is a good news that requires no wire cutting. On page 116 of the Owners Manual clear states that the dealer can turn the ANC OFF if aftermarket equipment is installed. Apparently you need the Tech 2 tool to do the job. Free unnder warranty, it is like a 15 min job, plug, look at the menu, turn off the ANC.

So I am going to the dealer to tell them to turn off the ANC as an interim solution.

The solution reside on harmonics. There is a frequency the system picks up and instead of sending through the stereo at 180 out of phase to cancel the noise, it sends it back as full sync wave. Perhaps is a feedback loop.

I was able to play with the reverb with the throttle. You can make it louder or not by slightly revving the engine as I said, light load, almost coasting at around 1800 RPMs.

It does happens when you play with frequencies, sometimes there is one note, one freq that reaonates. A fix might be a cut off on that specific range, some that a nit-picky individual will notice.

I know, it is a nuance but it is not the end of the world. At least I know where the belly ache is at; and understanding the problem is the 1st step of a solution.

I noticed this today on my 2024 Trax. I muted the radio and a very loud, deep hum occurs when barely accelerating to keep it at 28mph and also at 40mph. I was going home from work so didn’t go any faster to know if it does it at higher speeds. Hoping GM releases a recall and fix at some point. It is very annoying.
There is no recall as of today.

The dealer contacted me telling me that my solution is reported. Awaiting on how to turn the ANC off. Look in the Owners Manual page 116; the dealer can turn off the ANC.

It does not hurt the vehicle nor is a safety concern. The speed is not what causes the problem, it is about RPMs. 1,800ish RPMs under a light load, it can happen at any speed. As long you drive out of that range you will not hear it.

i ended up cutting the anc wire off the harness, if anyone is interested i posted pictures here:

under the hood, i ended up putting sound dampening butyl and foam to quiet down the cabin.
Thanks for the idea, but it is just me, I will like to go the software route and turn it off.

Anyway, how much different was with the ANC out? In my opinion, I think that is not going to be too much of a difference.

To be quiet honest, I think it does not matter. ANC is not that is day and night difference, is more of 10% reduction at its best. They never work quiet right.

My question to GM is, why even bother messing with it (ANC).

I got a call from the Chevy Service Dept. GM issued a service bulletin, more of a patch to fix the problem. The fix is to disconnect one of the microphones by the roof liner.

Someone at GM is shrooming. The Owners Manual on page 112 and 131 states clearly the deactivation can be done by the dealer.

Meaning, that can be turned off (if the techs know how) or simply disconnect the microphone cables; For that, the techs need to pull the roof liner.

I believe, that will be issued a software patch for the problem.

What I see is the cable snipping by the glove box is looking better each day.

Anyone have the bulletin # on this and has anyone actually had their dealer disable the ANC? Did the issue go away?
The dealer disconnect the microphone from the roof of the car. In my book is bullshît, the dealer can "disable" it, it is on the owners manual. However, does not say how is done. I was under the impression they use the scan tool, they do not have that capability.

As posted before, is either go there and unplug the mic, or cut the cable, pick your poison.

I am under the impression GM will issue a bulletin for a software/firmware patch, but they are very slow reacting.

Personally, I rather go with the idea of cutting the Purple/White cable by the glove box, much easier and cleaner approach; or maybe removing the pin connector from the plug and tuck it in.

Looks like GM has a fix for the ANC reverb issue
I just got my daughter's car from the dealer and they applied TB-23-NA-194 to reprogram the Stereo System.

I tried to make it go off and was not able to recreate the problem. Drove in highway and city at different speeds and loads. I consider the issue fixed, it is gone for good.(y)

We starting to have some issues with random reboots and some static coming from the passenger side speaker. The techs are stomped with the issue. However, we ask for a trade and we traded our paid off 24 Trax RS1 with 16,500ish miles for a 25 Trax RS2 with 5 miles for an additional $3,400 so I made the deal, still paid off. Felt like we just rented the car.

Also noticed that my phone is not paired with the system and my daughter uses an iPhone, she seems to have the problem but not me during the few times I drove the car. Could it be the iPhone is crewing things up?

Anyway, on the 25 Trax with the bigger infotainment and digital dashboard, we hace 0 issues, knock on wood, in 2,000ish miles.

Apparently the very firsts 24Traxes might had a screwie batch of infotainments that is causing the issues and corrected with the next batch. Who knows, just speculating on my part.

What I am noticing is the unintended consequences of the technology; specially the integration of technologies compounded by flaws in the micro service architecture.

To put in lame terms, the tech advances so changes are applied like software/hardware updates. These software/hardware depends of micro services, or let us say, other smaller software that manage certain functionalities.

As an example, most phones are setup to listen for certain commands like Siri, or Hey Google, Alexa and such. Since the Mic is open, it might picking background noises and affecting... let us say the noise cancellation.

So who is to blame, GM or the Phone Mfg? What we see a is herd of pissed off costumers and a car company running in circles trying to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it.

I have 2020 Silverado 2500 HD Duramax, my phone is paired but I have no other service beside the usual phone service, and I play MP3s with it, all the Voice Activated Services are turned off or disabled. I have no issues with the phone on that truck. My other cars are old school that use jacks for audio, nothing fancy.
