Exactly what did you do? Mine primarily did this in the summer when it was hot. I put a disconnect on the negative terminal and would have to disconnect the battery every time I turned the car off. When I reconnected it, the fan was still running. I haven’t had to use the disconnect for awhile now.

Did you ever get any help with your issue? I had the same problem with my 2020 trax and took a lot of digging and no help, but was able to figure it out. If you haven't please let me know cause it's only a $10 fix. Sorry if this is showing multiple times but it keeps disappearing, at least on my end.
Could you please tell me what you did I am having the same issue.

Happened to my son's 2020 Trax this week.

The temporary fix was simply tap this particular relay (trial and error). Darker grey, circled in the picture. It got "unstuck" when we tapped it.

We tapped a few of the relays before and this was the one that shut the fan off when tapped.

Ordered a new replacement relay on Amazon. Will be here Saturday. Might order a second one to have on hand. We'll see if it continues to happen. Might need a new fan eventually??? Not sure after reading this thread.
Thank you please keep me posted.

I replaced my relay and I haven’t had that issue since! It was $6 with my discount at Oreilys and it’s warranted for life.
Did we replace the same relay? Check out my post. I think I spent 20 bucks on my new relay. I was rather particular. I wanted the OEM part. That was at the recommendation of the mechanic friend of mine.

I have a 2015 chevy trax where my cooling engine fan will not go off. Replaced the cooling engine fan and replaced the cooling temp sensor, checked all of the fuses and my fan still will not go off. I don't know what else is left. I am not sure if it's a shortage in my wires because it's affecting my guide lines for back up camera as well as my apps are gone on my display screen. HELP!!!!

When they say tap it what do you mean?
Literally tap it. Knuckles, handle of a screwdriver, gently with a hammer. The relay may be stuck. It may become unstuck upon tapping. Tap the many relays until you tap one that shuts off the fan. Then you have successfully unstuck the responsible relay. Likely the one I circled.

Then replace that relay. It unplugs easily. The new one is $14 on Amazon.

Okay. We will try this. Will let you know how it goes.

This exact thing just happened to me! Replace the relay fuse! It was under $20 at Oreilys. Another person posted they did the same and the issue went away so I tried it and so far I’ve been ok! Just have a weird burning smell when letting my car sit and run which didn’t happen before the fan not shutting off event.

We did it and it worked. Now just gotta figure out how to get my guidelines back and my apps back now. Thank you for the tip
