I certainly hope so. In Canada the TRAX is offered with an MT as standard on the base LS trim. Whats nice is because the TRAX's engine is monospec you get the MT with the most powerful engine available. The downside is that you cant get MT and AWD...

I believe the gearbox is the F40 6 speed MT developed by FGP Germany http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FGP_Germany_F40_transmission

I dunno. I like manuals over automatic. Not only is it becoming a lost skill that seems to make people think you're some kind of wizard because you know how to operate one, but it also works as a sort of anti-theft device. Who's going to want to steal my vehicle if I accidentally leave it unlocked at night if they can't even drive it?

The only downside is it hurts the resale value because people do seem to prefer automatics over manuals though. =\

A decision like this is going to be made on hard data. Chevy will look at how many people would opt for the manual with cars in this segment and decide accordingly. Its not really a driver's car so I think that most people will opt for the automatic. There has to be enough demand for the manual to make it worth building, or they need to charge enough extra for the automatic to offset the cost of building the car with two different transmissions.
