Did you ever get any help with your issue? I had the same problem with my 2020 trax and took a lot of digging and no help, but was able to figure it out. If you haven't please let me know cause it's only a $10 fix. Sorry if this is showing multiple times but it keeps disappearing, at least on my end.
My 2020 Trax started having this issue about 2-3 weeks ago. The fan stays on after the car is off. My car completely died today and I bought the battery about 1.5-2 years ago so it shouldn't be that. What fix did you try?

Well, how did you fix it?? My car is doing the same thing.

I have a 2015 Trax and I’ve had to replace the engine fan relay a couple times now. Stays running and drains battery after I turn it off. If I wiggle fuse it will stop. Fan comes on freezing cold days too...when it kicks in it dims my lights and bogs it down. Why does this keep happening?! Factory defect?
Anyone else have this issues?!
wheres the relay

My 2018 trax just started this tonight. I finally got it to go off. Please, what is the solution? Pictures if you have as well, please!

There is a little black box on top of the cooling fan, at edge of good. It has a couple relays inside it. We replaced one of them and so far I haven’t had a problem. Just had to replace my battery as well and I replaced my other relay inside my fuse panel. Let me know if you need a pic.
Good morning, I need help with my 2015 Chevy Trax too. The fan keeps draining my battery. Please which relay did you replace? Do you still have the pictures please?

Happened to my son's 2020 Trax this week.

The temporary fix was simply tap this particular relay (trial and error). Darker grey, circled in the picture. It got "unstuck" when we tapped it.

We tapped a few of the relays before and this was the one that shut the fan off when tapped.

Ordered a new replacement relay on Amazon. Will be here Saturday. Might order a second one to have on hand. We'll see if it continues to happen. Might need a new fan eventually??? Not sure after reading this thread.

Idk if my reply goes to everyone in the thread as I'm new to this. If you're still having the issue I'd be glad to help as I had the exact same problem and was able to fix it myself
Can you tell me how to replace my relay - this happened on my 2020 about a year ago and is happening again - have to keep disonnecting the battery - I have the relay where to change it

Thank you for the comment and guide! This just started happening to me and I get off at midnight so a dead car was terrible.

This just started happening to my Chevy Trax with 95k miles. Weirdly it happened in October first and took it in with my dealership warranty. Now it’s 2 weeks later with the fan running and my coolant leaking. Dealership says the fixed it but I either don’t trust them or it’s a major issue with Trax. I find it coincidental we all had this issue around the same time as well.

Are you saying that they fixed the persistent fan running in October through warranty? And then you're saying that two weeks later the fan is running again and you now have coolant leaking?

I would take it back. Have them fix the fan again. Leaking coolant is pretty easy to root cause for them. They do a pressure test. Coolant reservoir. Hose. Water pump. Radiator. One of those. Maybe more than one of those.

Did they tell you what they did to fix the persistent fan running when you were there in October? That's either the fan itself or it's the relay. What fix did they do? Maybe it's time to do the other fix. A new fan is no big deal. A new relay is 20 bucks and you can do it yourself. See my previous post.

I have this issue sometimes I have a 2019 track I usually disconnect my battery and sometimes when I let it sit it goes off on its own, it’s not my relay switch either and where I got the track they don’t know what causes it.
I was having this issue and took it to the shop where they replaced the fuse box on the engine… so far so good
